A twister touched down on Yen Phong Dist. of Bac Ninh Province on Thursday afternoon, blowing off roofs and felling trees and utility poles, but there was no casualty, an official said.
Quang Tung, an engineer working near the area, said the tornado could be seen from 4 km (2.5 miles) away.
It “broke many trees and utility poles and blew off many iron sheet roofs,” he said. When it was over, the entire residential area in Yen Trung commune was “a mess,” he said.
Nguyen Van Bang, the People’s Committee chairman of Yen Phong Dist., on Friday said the whirlwind caused no casualty. However, dozens of roofs were blown off and trees downed, he said.
