A few miles north of Hillsboro thousands of dollars in damage at one farm. Friends of the family say they were out of town when it happened.
Closeby the roof of one building was shredded. A grain elevator’s bins were knocked over and smashed.
The company had a similar incident happen in 2001 and the general manager says he’s just happy no one was injured.
“Oh not too good I guess. We’ve been through this one other time back in 2001 we had the same problem. wind storm came through and Wrecked everything. We’re lucky this time we were full of barley so every bin that was full otherwise we would’ve lost more bins if they would’ve been empty,” said Darrel Miller, Rahr Malting Company.
No injuries have been reported so far.
