LEESBURG, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — When there are record-breaking warm temperatures in February there is usually a price to pay.
The Larrick family in Leesburg knows about paying that price.
Around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning an EF0 tornado ripped through their farm completely obliterating their barn. The family horse, Dakota was inside the barn and made it out just fine. The problem is the barn was used for so much more.
“My oldest sister just got married there are year ago all of us siblings the older siblings had her graduation parties their wedding celebrations there.” said Grace Larrick.
While the barn is a loss there are many things the family is grateful for. Their house is just steps away from the tornado’s path. They were inside praying when the house started to shake. Even though they have several downed trees, a destroyed garage and barn, they feel their prayers were answered.
“I don’t know that it has sunk in yet I’m just happy no one got hurt.” said Marvin Larrick.
