April 26 marks the 26th anniversary of one of the most destructive tornadoes in Kansas history.
The storm started in Clearwater and made its way through south Wichita where it grew into a F-3 tornado as it hit McConnell Air Force Base.
There it caused millions of dollars of damage and just missed billions of dollars worth of aircraft.
The twister eventually grew into a F-5 tornado when it hit Andover.
In all 17 people died, 13 in Andover and four in Sedgwick County.
