Hoopole, Ill. (KWQC) – The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities conducted a damage survey after Wednesday night’s storms and found an EF1 tornado hit Hoopole, Illinois.
According to the report, the peak winds reached 95 mph and the tornado was on the ground for just over 2 miles.
The NWS says tornado caused damage mainly to large branches with a few uprooted trees and snapped trunks. There is also damage to one outbuilding with part of the roof removed.
The NWS also confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down near Sherrard, Illinois. It started around 8 p.m. and stayed on the ground for eight miles with peak winds of 105 mph. A few homes, several outbuildings and over 50 trees were damaged.
