KATY, TX — The National Weather Services has confirmed that a tornado touched down on Sunday afternoon in an area west of Houston, near Katy.
No injuries were reported, and officials in Katy near the Firethorne community are assessing whether or not there were any significant damages to property.
Officials with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reported some minor damages in the area, according to a Houston Chronicle report.
According to a KTRK report, a funnel cloud was spotted shortly before the tornado touched down near Firethorne at about 3 p.m.
