A tornado touched down in San Jacinto County on Wednesday afternoon, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office reported on Facebook.
The report was posted at about 1:30 p.m., stating a tornado had touched down in the Holly Glen subdivision of FM 980 South.
Holly Glen is located near the town of Point Blank, on the west side of Lake Livingston, east of Huntsville.
“There have been reports of damage to multiple homes in that area as well as downed trees, power lines, phone lines, and heavy debris in the area,” the Facebook post states.
“Tornado was last seen moving over Lake Livingston,” the post states.
Sheriff Greg Capers said that no one was injured during the tornado but several homes were damaged.
“The roof on one house was ripped off and thrown into a neighbor’s yard,” Sheriff Capers said Wednesday afternoon by phone. According to the sheriff, the home had been recently repaired from damages it sustained during Hurricane Harvey.
