PRAIRIE COUNTY (KATV) — The National Weather Service has officially confirmed a landspout that touched down in Prairie County as a EF-0 tornado.
The landspout initially developed approximately two miles west-southwest of Little Dixie, moving southwest at speeds of 4 miles per hour.
According to the NWS, the landspout was active for about 14 minutes, following a one mile path that crossed over Sanner Road and several fields.
Peak winds are estimated to have reached around 65-75 miles per hour.
Damage from the landspout tornado was contained to a small field pumping station.
This makes the 25th tornado recorded in Arkansas this year.
