The National Weather Service reports several tornadoes have touched down Saturday afternoon in South Central Nebraska.
The first report was at 3:44 pm, five miles southeast of Holdrege.
About 4:00, a tornado was reported northwest of Wilcox, with more reports in the Wilcox area at 4:06, 4:11, and 4:23.
Spotters reported a brief touch down each of those times.
The storm also has seen high winds and golf ball size hail.
One local man saw that storm and was hanging out with his friend while cleaning his truck when he saw the tornado touch down.
“I look over and see a tornado on the ground out by Wilcox. Next thing you know there was two or three of them down. I didn’t have my phone on me so I had to run inside. I grabbed my phone, came back out and got a short video. Then shortly after we found out it was coming right at us so we booked it back to Minden and got shelter,” said Minden resident Jesse Denner. “One of them stayed down on the ground pretty long. There was also a bigger one that kept dropping but it never touched.”
