WEST BRANCH TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An EF-1 tornado touched down in Ogemaw County just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.
The tornado had maximum sustained winds of 100 mph when it touched down four miles northeast of West Branch in central Ogemaw County.
The twister caused damage to two houses along Mud Lake Road.
A National Weather Service survey team confirmed the damage was caused by a brief tornado.
At the time the tornado struck, there was no tornado warning in effect.
The tornado was on the ground for less than a fifth of a mile and had a maximum width of 40 yards.
No injuries were reported from this storm.
