WAXAHACHIE
The National Weather Service office in Fort Worth has confirmed four tornado touchdowns in North Texas on Saturday.
An EF-0 tornado touched down near Waxahachie and caused damage to Waxahachie High School. Light poles snapped in half and fencing around the football field was knocked over. Trees were downed and cars were flipped throughout the area.
The weather service also confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in Brady. Tree branches were knocked down and some trees were uprooted, a report says.
Brady is about 210 miles southwest of Waxahachie.
At 1:20 p.m., 2:06 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., other tornadoes touched down in Hill, Navarro and Freestone Counties, respectively.
By Sunday evening, the weather service confirmed two touchdowns in Hill County. An EF-0 touched down in the area west of Interstate 35 north of Pattons Mill Road.
An EF-1 with winds up to 100 mph developed northeast of the first tornado and caused damage to homes.
