JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – Storm recovery continues as communities clean up after 19 total tornadoes blew through the state.
The National Weather Service confirms 19 tornadoes touched down during Thursday’s storms, but that number could still go up as crews are expected to survey more areas Monday and Tuesday.

There are three deaths related to this severe weather event.
Governor Phil Bryant declared a State of Emergency after severe weather blew through the state, just days after another round of storms and tornadoes tore communities in central Mississippi.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has received damage reports from 35 counties due to tornadoes and severe storms that impacted the state on April 18.
The number of total tornadoes will likely rise as they continue damage assessments this week.
