A tornado touched down Tuesday afternoon near Lebanon, fire department officials said.
The storm destroyed two barns at Spencer’s Dairy Farm near Green Mountain Drive in Lacomb, Lebanon Fire Department officials said. The tornado was reported about 1:30 p.m.
Two other barns were badly damaged, officials said.
The storm’s path of damage extended another three-quarters of a mile, downing tree branches and power lines. No injuries were reported, and no homes were damaged.
The Linn County town is about 35 miles southeast of Salem.
The National Weather Service confirmed that the storm was indeed a tornado. The tornado was a level 0, which is the lowest level. The tornado started at about 1:07 p.m. and touched down across 1,200 feet, the weather service said. Its winds were between 65 and 75 miles per hour.
A tornado warning was issued Monday for the northwest Oregon and southwest Washington coasts after waterspouts were seen Monday afternoon.
