Officials say a storm produced two tornadoes early Thursday morning in the Springfield area.
Mike Griffin, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said the first tornado was an EF1 that touched down on the north side of Ozark at 2:10 a.m.
Griffin said that tornado was about 100 yards wide and stayed on the ground for a mile.
The tornado had winds up to 95 mph and caused mostly cosmetic damage to homes in its path, Griffin said.
Seven minutes later, Griffin said, the same storm produced an EF0 tornado just southwest of Rogersville.
Griffin said the second tornado was 50 yards wide and stayed on the ground for a quarter of a mile.
Griffin said the second storm damaged several trees, outbuildings and a barn.
The National Weather Service asks people to make sure they have a way to keep up with weather information, even in the middle of the night.
