PENN YAN (WROC) – – The National Weather Service says it has confirmed a tornado touched down near Penn Yan during storms last week.
The tornado was recorded between 8:19 p.m. and 8:21 p.m. Thursday night.
The service says the tornado hit a barn on East Swamp Road then scattered debris across a nearby field.
The tornado also knocked down several trees and blew down a fence near Voak Road before lifting.
The max recorded wind speed was 100 miles per hour.
