Monday night storms did damage in York County and in western Nebraska, according to the National Weather Service.
The service confirmed a tornado damaged buildings and knocked down trees in York County.
The twister struck a spot about 8 miles north-northwest of Bradshaw a little before 7:45 p.m. Monday and lifted after four minutes on the ground, the service said. It was rated an EF1 with a peak wind of 90 mph.
It damaged a house and garage, some grain bins and snapped off several trees. No injuries have been reported. The tornado was part of a supercell system that heavily damaged area crops.
In western Nebraska, the service says thunderstorms that produced hail left a trail of damage detectable from a satellite.
A northwest-to-southeast line across the Panhandle can be seen from more than 22,000 miles above the Earth. The weather service office in North Platte posted the Monday evening satellite images on its Facebook page .
Meteorologist Nathan Jurgensen said the damage trail was about 150 miles long and probably about 5 miles wide or less.
Most of the hail — some as big as softballs — fell on rural areas, shredding crops and damaging farm buildings. But several communities also were hit, especially Oshkosh. No injuries have been reported.
