PANOLA COUNTY, TX (KSLA) – A storm damage survey team confirms a weak tornado was on the ground for a couple minutes Saturday evening in Panola County, Texas.
The EF-0 tornado was on the ground for 1.3 miles southwest of Beckville, according to the National Weather Service office in Shreveport.
It broke large tree branches when it touched down at 5:19 p.m. along Farm-to-Market Road 1251 then crossed Panola County Road 237, where it uprooted a few trees and broke some more large tree branches.
The tornado then continued east-northeast and crossed Panola County Road 241, where the survey team said it did the most damage by uprooting several more trees and snapping several large tree branches.
The storm then moved to the northeast and knocked down some more large tree branches before lifting off the ground about 5:21 p.m. near an unnamed mining road about six miles southwest of Beckville.
The tornado had maximum winds of 85 mph.
And its path never was wider than 40 yards.
No structures were damaged.
Nor were there any reports of injuries.
